Upcoming Exhibition

Remix: A Permanent Collection Exhibition
Sept. 19 – March 6, 2027
Opening Reception: September 19, 1:30PM
In Remix, the Mann Art Gallery has invited four regional artists of varying backgrounds, ages, and artistic practices to choose works from the Permanent Collection to be displayed in the gallery. Each artist has reviewed the 4,000+ pieces in the Collection, found works that intrigue and resonate with them, and formed a connective thread amongst their selections. The process has resulted in an installation marked by the co-curators’ creative responses to the strengths, gaps, and points of inspiration and curiosity of the Permanent Collection.
This exhibition re-envisions how Permanent Collections are curated and shared. Often, curating is designated to gallery staff and trained professionals. Remix increases access to Collections, shares knowledge about the Mann Art Gallery’s Collection, and provides new interpretations of art with our broader community.
Since the Mann Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection was established in 1993, it has grown to house artworks that speak to local and regional histories, interests, and artistic practices. The Permanent Collection is part of the Gallery’s purpose to support artists, preserve and share artistic heritage, and promote critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. It is formed by gifts of artwork from multiple donors and acquisitions thanks to the generous, unique support of Diane & Roger Mann.
