Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Mann Art Gallery for the opening reception of Gibraltar Point on Saturday, June 27, 2026!
The afternoon was filled with art, conversation, and connection as we celebrated the opening of this special exhibition featuring the work of Michel Boutin and Tristen Durocher. Guests had the opportunity to experience the exhibition, meet the artists, and enjoy performances by both Michel and Tristen that added another layer of creativity and storytelling to the celebration.
Gibraltar Point stems from the artists’ summer 2024 residency at Gibraltar Point on the Toronto Islands, organized by the K’inādās artist collective. The residency provided a space for mentorship, exploration, learning, and artistic risk-taking, creating the foundation for two unique interpretations of shared experiences, places, and people.
Through their work, Michel and Tristen reflect on the connections formed through place and community, showing how one environment can inspire many different forms of artistic expression.
We invite you to stop by the Mann Art Gallery and experience Gibraltar Point for yourself. The exhibition is on view until September 4, 2026.
