The 15th Annual High School Juried Art Show wrapped up this week, showcasing an impressive range of talent and creativity from young artists. Judging art is never an easy task because every piece has its own merit and meaning. It takes courage for these students to share their work with the world, and we want to thank every participant for their dedication and bravery. This year, we had the privilege of awarding 11 outstanding pieces that stood out for their unique qualities and artistic expression.

Barb Lacey Memorial Awards
The Barb Lacey Memorial Awards, sponsored by the Lacey Family and led by Cathy Lacey, honor community spirit and collaborative creativity. Two awards were presented this year:
CCHS Collective for Beads That Didn’t Listen, a collaborative piece that combines individual voices into a unified artistic statement.
Ms. Brown & Ms. Morash’s Grade 9 Class at CCHS for A Chorus of Painted Keys, a vibrant group project that celebrates teamwork and youthful energy.
Improper Hanging's Art with a Message Award
Sponsored by Improper Hanging's Curtis Kerr & Jon Harrison-Kendrick, this award is presented to an Anonymous Carlton student for their sculpture A Fish in Time. This student also decided to give their cash award back to their classroom for more art supplies. Amazing!
The 15th Annual High School Juried Art Show once again demonstrated the power of art to inspire, challenge, and connect us. Each artist brought something unique to the table, and the judges faced tough decisions because every entry had value. We thank all the students for their courage in sharing their work and encourage them to keep exploring their creativity.
If you missed the show, keep an eye out for next year’s event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support young artists and experience fresh perspectives through their art.
Keep creating and sharing your vision with the world. Your art matters.
