Free Admission | Everyone Welcome
Join us for an afternoon with artist John Brady McDonald as he speaks about his powerful OSAC touring exhibition Omentum at the John V. Hicks Gallery, 2nd floor of the Margo Fournier Arts Centre. This free public event includes an artist talk and reception, offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from McDonald about the inspiration, process, and stories behind his work.
Omentum is a series of ten paintings that address major experiences faced by Indigenous people in Canada within recent memory. Influenced by artists such as Norval Morrisseau and Pablo Picasso, the works explore topics including Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Cultural Appropriation, the legacy of Residential Schools, the honouring of Two-Spirit identities, and the resurgence of Traditional Indigenous Tattooing.
