Omentum is a series of ten paintings that explore major experiences faced by Indigenous people in Canada within recent memory. Influenced by both Norval Morrisseau and Pablo Picasso, McDonald’s works address subjects such as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Cultural Appropriation, the legacy of Residential Schools, the honouring of Two-Spirit identities, the resurgence of Traditional Indigenous Tattooing, and the murder of Colten Boushie.
