The Winter Festival Art Show & Sale (WFAS) is our region's foremost community art exhibition, featuring over 120 artists from across the province each year. Any member of the Mann Art Gallery is eligible to submit, exhibit, and sell one artwork, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.  Purchase your membership now!

Jason Baerg

Guest Curator of the 50th Annual Winter Festival Art Show & Sale

 

Jason Baerg was raised Red River Métis in Prince Albert, SK, and now is a registered member of the Métis Nations of Ontario. He is a multifaceted Indigenous activist, curator, educator, and interdisciplinary artist, currently an Assistant Professor in Indigenous Practices in Contemporary Painting and Media Art at OCAD University. A graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Rutgers University with a Master of Fine Arts, Baerg co-founded The Shushkitew Collective and The Métis Artist Collective, highlighting his dedication to community engagement. He has volunteered as Chair for organizations such as the Indigenous Curatorial Collective and the National Indigenous Media Arts Coalition.

His work as a visual artist involves integrating digital interventions in drawing, painting, and new media installation. Baerg's international solo exhibitions include notable venues such as Canada House in London, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and the Digital Dome at the Institute of the American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Recognized for his contributions to the arts, he has served on numerous juries and received prestigious awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council.  For more about his practice, visit JasonBaerg.ca.

49th Annual Winter Festival Art Show & Sale February 7 - March 22, 2025 Monique Martin is an eco-conscious, internationally recognized, multi-disciplinary artist from Saskatoon, Canada with a 25-year exhibition history. She has exhibited her artwork in hundreds of significant solo, invited and juried exhibitions in numerous countries. Most of these were solo exhibitions in public galleries. Renowned international curators have selected her artwork for various exhibitions worldwide. Her works are held in numerous public and private collections around the world. Some of the major collections include: The Royal Alberta Museum, University of Washington Library, University of California-Los Angeles Library, Bytown Museum-Ottawa, among others. Guest Curator Monique curated 141 artworks and awarded the following artworks:
