On this self-guided tour, view art at galleries, and organizations in downtown Prince Albert. Local and provincial art will be on display at the following venues: Mann Art Gallery, GP Carlson Gallery, John V. Hicks Gallery, Grace Campbell Gallery, Bison Cafe, Prim & Proper Decor, On the Avenue Art Gallery.
Additional Participating downtown locations: Rock Trout Cafe, Funky Fresh Cafe & Bistro, Gail's Switch a Stitch, and The Rusty Owl.
John V. Hicks Gallery at the Prince Albert Arts Centre
The former City Hall/Opera House, now the Prince Albert Arts Centre was constructed in 1893 and has served many purposes. Currently the Arts Centre provides arts and culture programs and services. We have a well-equipped Pottery Studio for programming and independent artist use. Our programs and services brochure as well as seasonal program guide can be found at www.citypa.ca. Registration can be made online or in person at the Arts Centre.
The Prince Albert Arts Centre is also home to the John V. Hicks Gallery. The Hicks Gallery’s mandate is to provide a diverse schedule of exhibitions by Prince Albert based artists, guilds, collectives, and touring exhibitions through the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils. There are approximately 10-12 exhibitions per year.

The Bison Café is located in the heart of downtown and provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. As Prince Albert’s finest coffee house, Bison serves freshly brewed coffee, specialty drinks, and delicious food. The Red Door Gallery features the creations of local artists.

Grace Campbell Gallery
The Grace Campbell Gallery is located in the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library. On display are works by local, provincial, and national artists. The gallery was named after former librarian Grace Campbell, who was instrumental in building the John M. Cuelenaere Library.

Prim & Proper Decor
Prim & Proper Décor is a home, gift, and garden store. We are a small family-run business and have been open since June 2017.

GP Carlson Art Gallery
With its opening in December 2017, the GP Carlson Art Gallery is the newest gallery in Prince Albert. Located in the historic Adam’s Bookstore building, the gallery primarily features the work of Gail Carlson, one of Saskatchewan’s most recognized potters. GP Carlson Art Gallery contains functional and sculptural pottery, in addition to paintings, jewelry, and more!

On the Avenue Art Gallery
The work of 45+ local and northern artists is on display, including work by painters, potters, weavers, beaders, wood turners, jewelers, and candle makers. We offer art classes and have a monthly show in our mini gallery. Stop in and see what a talented arts community we have in Prince Albert!
